Sigma to launch four new lenses
I am still hyped on the Tamron 17-28 FE release and I actually have money for it already but I might be holding on to that and wait for more information on the upcoming Sigma lenses.
The best thing about the Sigma new lenses is that they are designed solely for Sony full frame mirrorless camera systems. The soon to come lenses are 35mm f1.2, 45mm f2.8, 14-24mm f2.8 and the 24 – 70mm f2.8.
I am very excited for the 14-24mm f/2.8 lens as I love wide angle lenses. Imagine the Samyang / Rokinon 12mm f/2.8 but with auto focus. That would be amazing. Sigma is known for the high quality and the great colors of their lenses but they are also popular on having heavy lenses. I wish the 12-24mm zoom lens will be light and small.
Sigma is a top choice for photographers on budget or those who love art lenses. They have amazing line of that type of lenses and I am wondering if the upcoming lenses are going to be one of those art lenses.
The 35mm F/1.2 is expected to be one of the fastest auto focus lenses for Sony. I am also looking forward for this. Perfect for portrait with and the amazing bokeh you can have with the 1.2 wide open.
The full announcement of the lens is scheduled to be mid-july. I’ll update this post once we have the official announcement from Sigma.
I am excited and you should too.
